As a DebtOps administrator, set the maximum a partner may charge their merchants, the DebtOps–partner revenue split, and a merchant's fee schedule directly.
Set partner ceilings and merchant fees (admin)#
As a DebtOps administrator you control two things in the fee system: the guardrails a partner must stay within when they charge their own merchants, and — when you need to — a merchant's fee schedule directly.
Before you start#
- You need a super-admin account.
- Know the difference between the two screens:
- Partner Economics — the ceiling (the most a partner may charge) and the revshare split (how DebtOps and the partner divide shared fees).
- Merchant Fees — the actual fee schedule charged to one merchant (success-fee bands, caps, establishment, monthly).
- Your changes are never clamped — you are the authority. Every change is recorded in the audit log.
Set a partner's ceiling and revenue split#
- Go to Partners and open the partner.
- Open the Economics tab.
- Under Charge ceiling, set the maximums this partner may apply to their merchants:
- Max success rate — the highest band percentage they can set.
- Max invoice cap / Max account cap — the highest success-fee caps.
- Max establishment fee / Max monthly fee.
- Leave any field blank for "no limit".
- Under Revshare split, decide how shared fees divide:
- Turn on Explicit split and set the Partner share — the badge shows what DebtOps keeps (it always adds up to 100%).
- Leave it off to use the legacy wholesale-spread arrangement.
- Click Save economics. You'll see a confirmation.
When a partner later tries to charge above any of these ceilings, their save is rejected with a message telling them exactly which value was too high — nothing is silently lowered.
Set a merchant's fee schedule directly#
- Go to Customers and open the merchant.
- Open the Fees tab.
- Edit the schedule:
- Success-fee bands — a percentage of each payment, by how overdue the invoice is. Add bands with Add band; leave the last band's To blank for "and beyond". New merchants start with three default bands (10% up to 30 days, 15% to 60 days, 20% after that).
- Cumulative caps — a per-invoice and a per-debtor (account) ceiling on total success fees.
- Establishment fee — a one-off charged when an invoice is placed into a campaign; turn on Charge on placement to enable it.
- Monthly fee — a recurring flat charge.
- Share with partner — which fee types are split with the partner (the split percentage is the one you set on the partner's Economics tab).
- Click Save fee structure.
As an administrator your values are not clamped to any ceiling — the form will only stop you if the structure itself is invalid (for example, two bands that overlap).
Good to know#
- Ceiling vs split are different things. The ceiling caps what the partner charges their merchant; the split decides how a shared fee is divided between DebtOps and the partner.
- Blank means no limit. An empty ceiling field is not zero — it's "unlimited".
- Everything is audited. Ceiling, split, and merchant-config changes are written to the audit log with who changed them.
